Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and leaders pledge to make participation in our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Be Respectful

Unacceptable Behavior

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Harassment, derogatory comments, or discriminatory language
  • Personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory comments
  • Trolling or deliberately provoking negative reactions
  • Publishing private information without consent
  • Unsolicited sexual advances or content
  • Conduct that could be considered inappropriate for a professional setting

Responsibilities

Community Leaders

Community leaders are responsible for:

  • Clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior
  • Creating and facilitating a welcoming, respectful environment
  • Taking appropriate and fair corrective action when needed

Contributors

Contributors are responsible for:

  • Reading and understanding this Code of Conduct
  • Following these standards in all community spaces
  • Reporting violations to community leaders
  • Helping create a welcoming environment for all

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces, including:

  • GitHub repositories (issues, PRs, discussions)
  • Discord servers and other chat platforms
  • Official communication channels (email, newsletters)
  • Community events and meetings
  • Private communications related to the project

Enforcement

Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the project maintainers.

How to Report:

  1. Email: conduct@beever-atlas.com
  2. GitHub: Send a private message to maintainers
  3. Discord: Direct message a moderator

What to Include:

  • Description of the behavior
  • When and where it occurred
  • Screenshots or logs (if applicable)
  • Your contact information (for follow-up)

Investigation Process

All reports will be reviewed and investigated fairly:

  1. Receipt: You'll receive acknowledgment within 24-48 hours
  2. Investigation: Maintainers will investigate the report
  3. Response: You'll be informed of the outcome
  4. Action: Appropriate action will be taken

Confidentiality

Reports will be kept confidential to the extent possible. Information will only be shared with those who need to know for investigation and resolution.

Enforcement Guidelines

Community leaders will follow these guidelines to determine appropriate consequences:

Correction

Warning

Private warning from community leaders, clarifying the nature of the violation and explaining why the behavior was inappropriate.

Request for Change

Public request for change in behavior, with clear explanation of expectations.

Temporary Consequences

Temporary suspension from community spaces for a specified period.

Permanent Consequences

Permanent ban from community spaces for severe or repeated violations.

Factors Considered

When determining consequences, community leaders will consider:

  • Severity of the violation
  • Whether the behavior was intentional or accidental
  • Past behavior and history of violations
  • Impact on the community and affected individuals
  • Potential for rehabilitation and education
